This is us getting the kids ready for bed tonight

Smiley playing at Herriman Beach which is just up the road from our home we sold earlier this summer. Smiley loves playing in the sand.

Me and the Kids at the County Fair Petting a Turtle

Smiley riding the pony at the County Fair we went to Gardner Village a couple weeks ago to see the animals and Stew rode a pony like the one he is on here. He loved it.

Smiley attempting to go off the diving board at the end of his swim lessons. Needless to say it took much convincing and me basically throwing him off the board.
What a great couple of months. We have had a lot of fun, adjusting, traveling and new adventures. From Lake Powell in June followed by a week trip in Island Park where we spent a day exploring Yellowstone Park - What an amazingly beautiful place- in July. Lots of day trips including driving over the mountains for a picnic, a day at Discovery Gateway, the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point, a couple days playing at Lagoon, mixed in with a parade and some local fairs. All wrapped up in Smiley's swimming lessons. Pictures to follow.
The kids and I have learned how to have a lot of good days of course mixed with our fair share of not so good ones. I have learned that if I keep them on basically the same schedule despite what I want they are much happier which means I am more patient and content with life. Sean is doing well and finishing up his first month of full time school and work which has meant that he is gone everyday from 7am to approx 10pm followed by some studying and sleep. Needless to say we are learning how to make the most of our weekends since that is about the only time any of us see him. Princess is on her way to crawling and if you put a cracker in front of her she moves pretty quick in her crawl role action that will get her almost anywhere she wants to go. She is getting so big and we have discovered that a bottle of water in bed is the trick to not having her cry herself to sleep - as she prefers not to be held while she is going to sleep. She is starting to cry if I am not holding her when she can see me. We have made some changes here as well, I have once again cut my hair and I am loving it. Smiley and Princess are now sharing a room full time which means no more crib or rocking chair in our room. Not only that Smiley has a sticker chart that he can only fill after cleaning his room, making his bed, eating dinner (getting him to eat has always been a challenge) and doing other things around the house. If he gets all but one sticker a day then he gets a treat at the end of the week. If he does it for a month then he gets one on one time with mom or dad his choice to do something fun again his choice. We just completed our first month of the sticker chart and although we have had to do some fine tuning it is working great.
So Friday Smiley got to go out his choice was to go see Ice Age 3:Dawn of the Dinosaur. We started out by going to the Dentist which he did great at. Then we went and got him a haircut (yes I finally broke down and let someone else cut his hair) he loved the fact that he got to sit in a toy airplane and watch Playhouse Disney while getting his haircut. Then we got lunch, popcorn and a drink to take with us while we watched the movie. It was a really fun day.
