Our Apartment Home

Warning:  This is a post for my benefit and records.  It may bore you to tears.  No worries though next post will be better.

Right after moving in our front room - Before
We were able to move our stuff into our apartment on the 10th of August but could not live here for almost another 2 weeks due to it being a new building and not passing the health inspection largely in part to no driveway/parking lot.   The upside to this was that I was able to get a lot unpacked and put away and rooms almost ready to go.  After a week & a half of unpacking and having several piles of boxes that needed to be put in the garage which we could not get into yet, and no idea on how much longer it would take to finish up things so we could start living here.  I packed the kids up and headed to Utah for a much needed week long break. (That post will be coming.)    When we got back it took another week to finish unpacking and several more to get things just right so it is comfortable.  Every room serves at least 2 purposes with the exception of the master bathroom, even the kids bath doubles up as storage with its wonderfully large linen closet.  Here is a breakdown of the functions of the different rooms.  The master bedroom is of course our bedroom but also my craft room with storage under the bed.  The kids room is not only where they sleep but also is now their toy room a first for me, I have never had more than stuffed animals in the room where the kids sleep.  I have been spoiled for a very long time.  The top of their closet is where I store my holiday villages though.  The Laundry room also doubles as storage.  The living room/ kitchen area is also my dining and office.  Things are a little tight but we are making the most of the space that we have.   Here are some pictures of our new home:

We really need to buy a new dresser.  This one is about 10 yrs old

This is how we fit everything into the kids room

My favorite time of night - both kids asleep

Apologies for the sideways pics but you get the idea.  The best part about living here is cleaning is a breeze.  Everything has a place and there isn't a lot of extra room to have things pile up.
