How we came to be in Minot, ND

For those of you who are curious but more for my own records. In mid June Sean was contacted by a recruiter how he got his name or his information we still do not know. Within 48 hours he had interviewed with the CEO and Therapy Manager a week later he interviewed with the RT dept. and a week later he started getting the job offer but there was a hiccup so we waited during this time Minot was flooding at record breaking amounts. At its peak the river was 7 to 9 feet higher than it had ever been recorded. (One man we talked to had 11 ft of water in his home.) The last big flood was in the late 1800's. Finally on the 30th of June Sean got the full offer with a start date of the 25th of July we had been looking at rentals but as the river crested on the 26th of June 4100 homes were in some kind of water which means that those residents were displaced and some 1000+ rentals were under water as well. In most towns not that big of a deal, but in a town where the vacancy rate for rentals is at .5% normally. Renting was seeming out of the question and since it is hard to buy a home online we were calling every property management company 2 times everyday and making arrangements for a trailer to live in until we could find a house. Then on the 11th Sean got a call from one of his Managers telling us that one of the ER doctors had a room Sean could stay in until the 1st of August when an new apartment would be available. This apartment was a no pet apartment though. As we got to know the doctors family we found out that they have dogs and we talked to them, they are willing to keep our Maddie until we find a house. So many prayers answered in such a short time. Not only that the doctor could take all of us so we could make the move more or less together. It is amazing how overnight things can change. Heavenly Father is so aware of what we can handle and will not ask more of us than what we can truly handle. I am so grateful for those who have faith in and trust in our Heavenly Father. I will never be able to repay or give enough thanks to the Knutson's who have taken us in and been an answer to so many prayers. Who have a strong faith in Christ and a great love and spirit in their home. They have made us feel like we are family. Our kids play together no stop all day and can't wait to play in the mornings they hardly will stop to eat meals. Brooke who is 15 lets Ashlyn follow her around and she will play with her. I am grateful to know I can trust her with my kids when the time comes. We are so blessed and are looking forward to our adventure here in Minot.
